Miniature Polymer Clay Food

These were so fun to make, but they took a lot of time.  Luckily, I've had a lot of time on my hands.  Okay, maybe not so lucky.  I brought my polymer clay to the hospital, to help pass time while I wait over the 3 night stay, while my cute boy (Adam, who is 8) was getting another round of Chemotherapy.  But that's another story.  I've never made anything quite like these before, so I turned to youtube.   There are many fantastic tutorials on youtube.  You are able to make much more realistic food than I thought possible. I used different tools to add texture, and painted on dust shaved off of pastels to add color variations.  That's why I love tutorials so much, I was able to learn so much more than I would have fiddling around on my own.  For a size comparison, notice the penny under the sculptures.  Bon appetit!

  1. So fun to look at all your stuff...did you realize on your turkey, it looks like it came straight out of the oven and it still has the hot little blisters from cooking? You can sure make things look real!

  2. Thank you! Speaking of the turkey, I'm wanting to add some garnishes around the base too, to jazz it up even more. It's one my favorites.
